We were asked to provide the steelwork for this industrial building in Stroud. Existing buildings were in close proximity on both sides this made it important that all steel was loaded in such a way that it could be unloaded with the minimum of re-slinging on site.

Due to the specification required it meant that every single piece of steel…both the main structure and also the cold rolled had to be moved and installed by crane. Again good organisation of steel on site meant that there was minimal unneccesary movement of materials.

The main steel frame was completed and the crane off hired within 3 days. After lining up of steelwork and tidying of site the building was handed over ready for cladding.

Madeley Acadamy is in Telford. Main contracters Bowmer and Kirkland contracted us to design, fabricate and erect the steel frame that was required for the installation of air condition units. The structural steel was delivered to site at 8am on Monday.  After site induction erection commenced and the main frame was in place before the days end. Tuesday morning saw the steelwork finished and handed over to the client.

Beeches Farm Industrial Estate is located near Kettering. We have provided various services to the site over the years from refurbishments to new builds. On this occasion a new building was required to accommodate a workshop and offices.

The old existing buildings were removed as they were unsuitable for the client. As soon as the site was cleared and ready we first of all visited and marked out the locations of the holding down bolts so as they could be installed prior to erection.

Once the steel frame arrived erection was started immediatly and the main frame was up within the day. Secondary steelwork was then fitted. This is primarily cold rolled sections that are needed for cladding purposes. Also any door steelwork and window trimmers.

This was then followed by the erection of handrails and netting ready for cladding. The cladding itself was composite panels on the roof and also on the sides.

Linking onto existing buildings meant that extra care was needed so as not to disrupt other companies operating on the site.
The client was looking to move into the new building as soon as possible so it was important that everything went to plan and was within the timescale allowed for the project. This was achieved with no problems or disruptions.

Amersham Audi were looking to extend their car showroom and we were happy to provide a solution.
Using Strucad to produce the fabrication drawings the steel frame was soon being fabricated in our workshops. We visited site prior to erection to mark out and install grillage beams that were required to span over existing below ground services. This ensured that upon arrival of our erection team we could progress quickly with the steelwork.

All steel was erected and lined and levelled ready for other contractors begin work on the project within the week.
Being in such close proximity to a major highway and also joining onto an active business premises meant that minimal disruption to both was of the utmost importance.
